Feed The
Hungry |
March To A Million
In cooperation with UW-La Crosse Gamma Sigma
Sigma service sorority, Rotary Lights has set a
goal for 2006 to collect 164,400 food items.
Over the 11 years seven area food pantries have
shared the nearly 840,000 food items that have
been donated.
More than $280,000 has been distributed to 145
area non-profit agencies that have supplied the
“people power” to make Rotary Lights possible.

The food that is collected is divided among
eight area food pantries: Salvation Army, WAFER,
St. Elizabeth-Holmen, Caledonia (SEMCAC) Food
Shelf, Onalaska Food Basket, La Crescent Food
Basket, New Horizons, and Place of Grace.
The generous gifts of food that are collected
unfortunately only last 8-10 weeks. In 2006, we
hope to top the one million mark of food items
collected. The demand is high and growing. If
you or an organization you’re involved with
would like to help organize an event in
partnership with Rotary Lights that would help
us increase food collections, contact Rotary
Lights at 784-9993.
